Have you wondered what it would be like to have an audience with a Queen or a King? You think: “My mind doesn’t even go there, because it will never happen.” But suppose you did receive a gold embossed, hand delivered envelope from a reputable courier service and you were invited to a private audience with a reigning monarch – how would you react? After you got over the initial shock, you might wonder if you could even afford the new clothes required for such an occasion, let alone the travel costs of getting there. No need to worry. You find out that the silver winged Royal Air Force private jet will be dispatched to pick you up and the tuxedo will be provided. “Is this just a dream or could this really be happening to me?”

Why Evangelism in December? There are still millions of people around the world who ‘expect’ to hear something about Christ at Christmas time. In the spirit of the season many are more pleasant and receptive in December than any other time of the year.

The ideas below were forwarded by many Christians from different parts of the world. I have tried to organize and condense the suggestions. Some of the elements of enthusiasm and humor contained in the forwarded suggestions were lost in the editing process. I will post this list in the Bible Bite Section of www.heaven4sure.com for future reference and add to the list if new suggestions are received. PDR

Have you ever been to an air show? Thousands of people milling about with children perched on their shoulders. If you were driving by the crowd with your windows rolled up, you might wonder what the big attraction was. Rarely does anyone look down and notice an earwig or a spider or an ant. Everybody is looking up. Everyone’s neck muscles are being strained; heads are tilted backwards – all eyes are glued to the skies. Even the camera’s have the upward tilt. The big attraction seems to be above – not below. People tend to only look up when they think something is happening or about to happen up there – a flash of lightning; an eclipse; a passing comet; a fireworks display…..or an air show.

I doubt if Joshua ever experienced boredom. It seems the days weren’t long enough for him to do all he wanted to do for the Lord. Ever since he succeeded Moses he had been going flat out as the leader of Israel. He was one of the originals who had come out of Egypt. Joshua and Caleb were among the twelve men who checked out the land of Canaan and brought back their non-unanimous report to the Israelites. Ten said: “Forget it. We could never conquer that land. The enemies are stronger than we are.” But Joshua and Caleb said: “Let’s go for it! With God on our side there can be no obstacles!” A refreshing perspective to say the least.

"So Bill what do you think? I want to start a Youth Mission Center to reach out to struggling young people in our community. I found some empty storefront space in a high traffic area where alot of the kids hang out. And guess what, the price is right. I can get it for practically nothing, provided we turn it back to the landlord in better shape than it was when we started. I really want to do something for the Lord and I think this is it. What do you think Bill?’

"Go for it Andrew. You couldn't go wrong doing something like that for the Lord. If that's what's on your heart - don't waste any time. Just do it. God be with you."

The home of Stephanas was addicted and had been from Day One. They were controlled and propelled by it 24/7. Onlookers probably wondered: “How ever did it happen? How did it get such a hold on them?!!” Everyone knew about it but it seemed nothing could break them off it. If ever there was an environment where this addiction should NOT have thrived it was in Corinth.

Who’s your Lord? Do you know the Lord who supplies your needs, quenches your thirst, satisfies your longings, silences your fears and stills your storms? I suspect you have already been talking to the Lord today about how thankful you are for everything He has done for you and is doing for you.

There’s a Sunday School chorus that goes like this:

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see!
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see!
There’s a Saviour up above watching over you in love
So be careful little eyes what you see.

What we see with our eyes has a powerful impact on what we think. If we drive by a head-on collision, the gruesome images linger with us, even when our eyes are shut. We say: “I can’t get that accident out of my mind!”

Is the Lord’s Supper important? Where you go on Sunday – is the Lord’s Supper a significant, well attended and deeply cherished activity of the local church? Or is it sort of optional, hit-or-miss, once-in-a-while, an occasional or annual or quarterly type of thing? What about you personally – where does the Lord’s Supper rank in your list of priorities and spiritual commitments?
