Chains Can't Bind Everything

Some tried but they failed. Had they been successful we wouldn't have one on our desk or beside our bed. Over the centuries, evil powers have focused on wiping it off the face of the earth. Dark but sophisticated strategies have been employed to erase it from the minds and hearts of people. But the continuing dominance of the Bible as the world's #1 best-selling book is current evidence that it always comes out on top, and it always will!

Jesus: Heaven on Earth

Millions recite The Lord's Prayer every week. Entire congregations say it in unison. Little children quote the words along with crusty old men. Cool teenagers, corporate executives and little dainty old ladies blend their voices together....

It's Your Responsibility!

"I just thought that when God saved me, He'd look after everything from A-Z. Why am I feeling such coldness? Why has the chill of Christian experience set in? I feel like He's not shining down upon me anymore. The honeymoon period has certainly ended and I feel like I have been shunted off to the shadows. My smile is gone and tears have returned."

More and More

Less and Less

If the Lord had just finished putting away His monitoring and measuring device and was preparing to record my latest position today, would He note in His record that I am progressing according to schedule or regressing? Gaining altitude as a believer or descending? Is my spiritual pulse growing stronger or weaker?  More focused on Christ or less? Participating more and more in spiritual activities and responsibilities or am I missing or absent more often?

Having the Son

As bright as you may be, there's something you can not get your head wrapped around and neither can I. Some things are simple; other things are complex but then there is a sphere where our minds can do nothing but wonder and worship.

For a few minutes just now do a mental switch. Put your fretful worries and heavy cares to the side as you read this verse:

Lord, Give Me Faster Legs to Run

Joseph has to be one of the most thrilling characters to appear on the Bible stage. You know the scene in Potiphar's house? Genesis 39:7 says: "his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, "Lie with me."

No Christians around to know about it.

No family to find out.

No father near to disappoint.

The Storm Calmer

Have you heard of storm-chasers? They are people who travel thousands of kilometers hoping to witness a bad storm. The thrill of their life is to see a violent weather storm. Hurricanes, lightening storms, and even hailstorms are exciting for them but the most thrilling storm of all is the destructive tornado. It is every storm-chaser's dream. Storm-chasers will camp-out in tornado-prone zones just wishing, waiting and wanting a tornado to strike with deadly force. To see it first hand and to capture it on video is the thrill of a lifetime.

It's Not too Late - You Still Have Time

"I thought I blew it but then I realized - it's not all over. It's not too late to change because I still have TIME.  Yes, I have wasted time. I have made mistakes in the past. I even have regrets about yesterday. But this morning, God's Word reminded me that regardless of what's lost, what's behind me, what's been wasted, I do still have TIME."

Simplicity and Modesty

Occasionally you hear debates about what Christians should or should not wear. When the pendulum swings too far one way you see extreme plainness - everything is baggy and navy or sacks in black with no differentiation - the seamstress' version of the baker's cookie-cutter approach. In fact, what was intended to be simple and modest and, I suppose, 'spiritual' becomes eye-catching for its blahness and sameness. It becomes a costume that attracts attention to the outward appearance rather than the inner adornment of the person's heart.
