Have you ever wondered about our priorities? Things that seem so important today weren’t even on our radar screen that first little while we were saved. If you are a caring and sensitive Christian male are you a bit of a limp-wimp? Do you believe that by cultivating such virtues you will be robbed of your masculinity? Is showing kindness, shedding a tear, apologizing and worrying about offending someone a sissy thing? Is being a ‘helper’ or a ‘singer’ or a ‘server’ or a ‘praying-one’ in the local church effeminate? Is it in conflict with authentic masculinity?

Someone just emailed me and told me the biggest blight in the lives of Christian men of all age groups is the pollution of the mind. Filthy thoughts. Although it was a male who emailed me I know I have received more than one email from Christian sisters who are struggling with a polluted mind – so it’s not just a guy thing.

I am not sure whether I am a baritone singer or a monotone. Sometimes I think I can sing tenor but for the most part I’m in the fog-horn section of the choir. I’m pretty sure I’m not completely tone deaf but I’m not so sure a few others aren’t. I suspect they might fit the classification. By the way, I just took an online test for tone-deafness and I passed but not with flying colors – 63.9%.

Have you ever met someone who doesn’t quite have their act together?  He’s not sure whether he’s a cool dude with shades or a father with children. Not sure if he’s a Demolition Derby driver or an accountant. Not sure if he’s playboy or a committed husband – a clown or a responsible Christian. Brown hair one day and bleached the next. Not sure if he’s a fashion model built for designer clothes or a serious believer with his priorities straight. Uncertain whether his raison d’être is to climb the corporate ladder or to live for eternity.
