The Breathless Queen

“Catch her! She looks like she is going to faint. Get her a chair quickly! Is it fatigue or could it possibly be a hypoglycemic reaction? She needs to sit down. Should we call the palace doctor or have the paramedics assess her?”

“Gentlemen, I am quite okay. Your Majesty is not suffering from low blood sugar nor did I sleep poorly last evening. To be quite frank about it, I am completely overwhelmed and awed by it all. I have known my share of wealth and splendor, but I have never ever, ever seen anything like this before – not in my wildest dreams. The opulence is transcendent. The environment is totally beyond what I ever expected to see. But even more staggering is the King himself. I am lost for words to explain my feelings just now.”

The Queen continued: “Be clear on this, I am not having a weak spell. I am not hallucinating and I am not losing it. Don’t bother texting the palace physician. I’m doing quite well. I am just overwhelmed with the character of this Kingdom and the King Himself. Not even the half of what I have witnessed or experienced during this visit was anticipated prior to our departure from the Arabian Peninsula.”

When the Queen of Sheba came to Solomon the Bible records it this way:

“… she told him all that was on her mind.

And Solomon answered all her questions;

there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her.

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon,

the house that he had built, the food of his table, the seating of his officials,

and the attendance of his servants, their clothing, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the LORD,

there was no more breath in her.

And she said to the king, "The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it.

And behold, the half was not told me.

Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard.

Happy are your men!

Happy are your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!

Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever,

He has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness."

(1Kings 10:2-9 ESV)

If the Queen of Sheba was breathless, speechless and overwhelmed with King Solomon and all his glory, have you ever wondered what it will be like to see your King face to face? What will it be like when we are lifted out of this sin-infested environment and welcomed into His eternal Presence?

As you read this, you may be overwhelmed by many questions weighing heavily on your mind, for which you have no answers – just many tears and an aching heart. Be sure of this dear Child of God – IF you still have questions lingering in your mind as you bask in the sunshine of His Presence, He will be able to answer them. The pieces of life’s puzzle that today make absolutely no sense to you will look so different in His Presence.

He will have the explanations and the answers IF we still need them. But remember – our days down here are numbered and soon we will be ushered into His Eternal Presence. We will be completely changed and we will be morally like Him for we shall see Him as He is. (1John 3:2) Quite possibly we will fall at His feet speechless and breathless as we worship our King who shed His blood to bring us into His eternal Kingdom. What a privilege to serve Him forever!

Walk carefully and closely with the Lord today.

Warmly in Christ

For sure King Soloman in all his glory will be "small potatoes"compared to tthe glory that awaits those who go through the "door" into the Glory of God .
Jesus said "I am he door" John 10;9
