How a Muslim from Malaysia Found Christ
Adillah Tells Her Story
Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” You have just read one of my favorite verses in the Bible. I have claimed it everyday since the first day I KNEW the Lord, the God of my life. Psalm 73:25 “Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.”
Thank You Mom and Dad
I was born in Malaysia to a Malay family. The youngest of five, my parents brought me up to the best of their ability, teaching me Islamic teachings right from early age, and proper ways to live as a Muslim. Every day I am thankful to the Lord for my parents, especially my mother who with love and endurance cared for me, taught me and provided all my needs. They did a wonderful job raising me, and instilled in me the knowledge of God, and that there is a God to whom I am accountable for all my actions and decisions.
 Growing up, I tried to fulfill all my obligations as a Muslim. I was taught that I am responsible to God to do as He says and not to depart from all the rules and teachings of Islam. To disobey one of God’s rules, would be a sin and a point against me. It was a merit system. So I tried to do good. I prayed five times a day; I read the Qur’an, fasted and so on. Yet deep in my heart I knew there was nothing I could do to achieve that high standard of holiness.
Even Little Sins Offend God
All Muslims will agree with me that God IS holy. There is not a single sin in Him and He does NOT delight in sin. So my question to you my friend is: how then can you cleanse yourself from your sins to meet this holy God? God is not only offended by big sins. As Muslims we were taught that even ‘little’ sins like gossiping, telling a white lie, not reading the Qur’an properly, or even thinking bad thoughts is all very offensive to God.
How Can I Be Sure I Am Clean Before God?
 What can we do then to be clean? You might say just try your best. But God IS holy and we people are dirty with sin. So what then? This question was always on my mind and my heart even when on the outside I appeared to look like any other Muslim with my head covering and my daily rituals.
Leaving Malaysia to Study
 When I was 18, I left Malaysia to study abroad. Though I was away from home and away from my family and away from my society, I still fulfilled my responsibilities as a Muslim. I knew God was still watching no matter where I was. I was proud to be a Muslim and I didn’t dare to leave all the teachings and prayers that were engrained in me since my early age. Still Worried About My Sins
However, the conviction of my sins was getting heavier upon my heart. I realized that if I was to die, I would have to meet God myself. I would have to answer to Him myself. There was nothing my family and my country could do for me to help me face God.
What would I do with my bags of sins when I met Him? What if my best was not good enough? And why did it say in Surah Al Fatihah that I must say at least 5 times a day: ‘Lead me to the straight path?’ If Islam was not the right path, what was the right path? I had seen Buddhism and Hinduism. They were religions of idol worshippers.
Searching For the Truth
But what about Christianity? Are they idol worshippers too? What is in the Bible? Why does the Qur’an say to love the people of ‘the book’- they are the Christians? There was some thing in me that needed to find the answers. But at the same time I quickly brushed it away as I was very afraid of being an apostate who would be definitely thrown to hell.
However, a friend of mine, who is a Christian (a follower of Christ), told me that Christians do not worship idols or use objects in their worship. Roman Catholics may but Christians don’t. My friend gave me a Bible to read and I started reading in the New Testament.
Scared To Read the Holy Bible
Being a Muslim, I was scared to read the Bible.  I had been taught
and warned clearly to stay away from reading it. However my friend challenged me saying: “If Islam is really true why would I be so afraid of reading the Bible?” I agreed. My mom had always taught me that the truth will always be revealed, so I myself should always tell the truth.
I started to read the Bible with a heart that was seeking for the truth. So my Muslim friend, I ask you the same question: “If Islam is the truth, why then are you afraid of reading the Bible?” The Holy Bible says: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) Yes my friend the truth will set you free.
I found the answers to my questions in the Bible. Why was I sinning continuously even when I tried hard not to? The Bible told me it was because I was born a sinner. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”(Romans 3:23). Adam and Eve brought sin into the human family.
Why Do Babies Throw Tantrums?
 Just observe a little baby: right from the early years of life the young child is able to rebel by throwing a tantrum and by just being bad or disobedient. No mother has to teach her child to disobey. It is just in the baby’s nature. It wasn’t taught to the child; it came naturally. The Bible told me that “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.”(Jeremiah 17:9).
Truly our real problems are not on our external appearance or outward behaviour. Yes, we can pray five times a day; we can fast as much as we can and go in and out of mosques; we can try to live righteously; we can go to Mecca, and return home ‘feeling’ holy. BUT the problem is still there. It lies deep within our heart. By nature, we are desperately wicked. When I read the Bible I understood that God doesn’t look on my outward appearance but on my inside. “But the Lord looketh upon the heart.” (1Samuel 16:7)
Feeling Clean and Pure Is Not Good Enough
So, my Muslim friends stop right now and ask yourself: ‘is my heart clean and pure?’ It didn’t matter whether I fasted in Ramadan or whether I prayed today or read the Qur’an or whether I gave alms. The real question was: ‘Is my heart clean?’ Had I been cleansed from my sins' such as the sin of pride, of anger, of hatred, of jealousy, of deceit, and a corrupt mind? Just like I had to as a Muslim – you too have to answer these questions. Because the Lord knows your heart. The reality was – my heart needed to be cleaned.
I had to face the fact that I was a sinner. Have you ever faced that reality? The Holy Bible says: “The wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23)
How a Muslim Can Be Saved
Knowing this, how could I be cleansed from my sin and be free from the punishment of sin? Here is what I found in the Holy Bible: The reason Jesus died on the cross was that He died for me. Instead of me, being punished, He took the punishment of my sins. When He had completed paying for my sins He cried from the Cross:
“It is finished!” (John 19:30).
My debt of sin was paid in full. The work for my salvation was done. It was completed. It is because of this that today I am a Christian.
We can not clean the sin from our heart. Our good works such as our prayers or our fastings can not wash away our sins. Our problem is not so much what we do, but what we are.
God Loves Adillah!
I think you will agree that God made us and He knows us and He also knows our hearts. He also knows that we can not cleanse ourselves from our sins. So did God care that I, Adillah was a sinner and that I could not clean my own heart?
Here is the beautiful ‘truth’ I discovered when I read the Holy Bible:
“For God so loved the world, (He loved me),
that He gave His only Son
that whosoever (anyone including me)
believes in Him should not perish
but have the everlasting life.
(John 3:16)
Everlasting life! Not death! He gives life. He was the only One who could cleanse me from my sins. That’s why Jesus came down to earth; He came to die - so He needed a body to die in. He had no sin of His own because He was God. He could not sin but He became a man in human flesh and was perfect in every way – unlike ourselves.
How Could Jesus Be Without Sin If He Became a Man?
How could this be? Because He was not conceived like other human beings. No sinful man was involved. The Holy Bible says He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Mary was just a vessel God used bring the Son of God into this world. She had no supernatural power back then nor does she have any today. She is distinguished only by the fact that God used her to bring Jesus into the world.
God Is Not Like I Thought He Was
I found out that the God of The Holy Bible is NOT a distant, far off God who is unnecessarily cruel or unpredictable in His decisions. I always knew that He was a Holy and Just God, but I found out that He is a God of love and tenderness and mercy.
When our first parents Adam and Eve sinned against God and brought sin into the human family, God’s responded by sending Jesus into the world to be the Saviour for every sinner. He loved all and excluded no one. He gave His Son to die for our sins. He did that work 2000 years ago and it is the only ‘work’ that God recognizes to take our sins away.
How Did I Become a Christian?
Are you wondering exactly how I, a Muslim became a Christian? I simply agreed with God that I was a lost sinner and I needed to be rescued and I trusted in Christ’s completed work upon the Cross. I believed what the Holy Bible said: He loved me and He died for me. That was the truth I discovered in the Bible.
When I trusted in Christ’s work upon the Cross, God forgave me of all my sins and because of God’s grace, (I don’t deserve this) I am free! He has removed my sins as far as the east is from the west – they are gone forever from God’s Holy eyes. Jesus took them away by His death.
I decided, not by force and not by birth, to follow Christ. I accepted His invitation to acknowledge Him as the Lord of my life. He has forgiven me. “The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son cleanses us from all sins.”(1 John 1:7).
I’m Not Merely Hoping – I Know!
I was once separated from God because of my sins but now I KNOW I have a home in heaven - all because of Christ. I’m not hoping – I know! The Lord Jesus Christ loved me and gave His life for me. The life that I now live, I live by the power of the Son of God. My burden of sin was taken away when I trusted in His finished work at the cross. I am a sinner saved by grace.
Do you want this assurance my dear Muslim friend? I know whom I have believed. Do you KNOW who and what you believe? “..Seek the Lord thy God and you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29). Be honest with yourself, my friend. You need to be right with God.
The truth doesn’t end here. For those who believe, we know our Savior lives and He IS coming again. Christ is returning. It seems His coming is very near. It is a dark and evil world we live in. There are wars and rumors of wars, tsunamis, earthquakes, terrorism, floods, hurricanes, typhoons and the Bible says the worst is yet to come. This is URGENT matter for everyone – Muslims and non-Muslims alike!
So my last question to you is: are you ready for Christ when He returns? What are you going to do about Jesus Christ so you can be right with God? To be at peace with God, you must accept Christ.
Being a Christian is not a religion. It is having a personal relationship with Christ. But you must make a decision. I’m not talking about whether you feel ‘good’ about your religion or not – I’m referring to a conscious decision you must make about the Lord Jesus Christ. Who is He and did He pay for your sins on the Cross and will you accept Him as your Saviour?
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him…” “Behold I come quickly.” (Revelation 22:12) “EVERY knee shall bow; and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” (Philippians 2:11). “Unto you therefore which believe He is precious.”(1 Peter 2:7)
The Lord Jesus Christ LOVES every Muslim. He loves you. With His arm open wide He is waiting for you to come to Him to cast your burdens to Him and He’ll give you rest. It is not a western religion or thinking. It is the Love of God for sinful humans and it was displayed at the cross. I am praying for you.

What a marvellous GRACE OF OUR GOD.Adillah is only the second Malaysian Muslim that I know who trusted Christ as Saviour.I met the other one in Toronto when I was on vacation there a number of years ago.She came to Nova Scotia to study and found Christ and later married a White Christian assembly brother.When I grew up in Malaysia,I know of no other Muslim man or woman trusting Christ.These dear souls are the rare jewels of His Wondrous Grace and Love...Praise the Lord !

I truly enjoyed your testimony Adillah, what an encouragement to hear you and ones like you trusting in Jesus. It just makes me sit back in amazement as God, in His wondrous grace, love and mercy, works. I am grateful for that verse "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened that it cannot save; neither is his ear heavy, that it cannot hear" Isaiah 59:1 I am so glad to hear that you trusted Him. You are only a human. You are judging the true god with common sense and heart felt feelings. You do not know what Allah did not teach. You do not have the knowledge to verify who is god. I worship Allah who made Jesus and Mary. Are you?? Jesus is only a person that Allah created to bring good news to us. That is over. He have saved us. Going forward, the bible is no more in use. The new and latest reference is the Holy Quran not the old Bible. Wake up dude!!! do you use the old slow moving ship to travel or uses the air plain to travel? I would prefer the latest version. Ahmad, we are both humans. The Qur'an teaches that Jesus was a Prophet of God. How could He have been a prophet of God if He taught the people that He Himself was God? He did not merely claim to be a prophet! He claimed to be God in Human flesh! Read the fourth book in the New Testament of the Bible - the Gospel of John. Jesus very clearly asserted His deity. As a Muslim, how can you still believe that Jesus is a prophet of God, if you believe He was guilty of blasphemy by claiming to be God or Allah? But the Qur'an teaches that He was a prophet. Something does not add up. There is a major disconnect. Because you formerly attended a Christian Church did not make you a genuine Christian. There are thousands who attend christian churches who are not christians. A Christian is one who has accepted Jesus as their Saviour and Lord - a personal moment of faith in Christ. At that moment they experience the complete forgiveness of all their sins and they become a recipient of eternal life - they will never perish. Because a person visits Australia often, does not make one an Australian. Because one is a member of a Christian Church does not make one a Christian at heart. Adillah, I am absolutely encouraged by your story! I have many friends who are Islamic and I am a Christian and it can be hard to try and let my friends know how freeing it is to love and follow Christ and accept his love. I believe God will do amazing things through you!

Hi Adilah. I was touched with your testimony. I couldn't imagine what you have been through. "But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. Not really sure what to say here. i know Adillah is not real...because alot of stuff that she apparently says about islam is straight out of s church book! muslims actually do believe in the bible "Adillah'. I don't know what kind of muslim you were before...but apparently you don't know much about it. IT'S ACTUALLY A CONDITION OF ISLAM THAT MUSLIMS BELIEVE IN ALL REVEALED BOOKS. WHAT WE DON'T PUT UP WITH IS THE NON-SENSE THAT HAS GONE INTO IT SINCE IT WAS FIRST REVEALED. I mean what is it up to now 60th edition (NEW IMPROVED) ccccmon people a little common sense would help...oh and by the way @pramsay...u really need to get checked into somewhere...if you think god came down in the flesh to let filthy men nail him to a pole. Pls watch Peace TV, you will understand better about the real christianity and Islam. Sister you said that you have read the Bible which bible you read? There are so many Major revisions in the Bible. Every now and then they revise the Bible to suit their requirements. for example the Trinity is taken out from the Bible, king Jones revised version, saying that is a fabrication. But the Quaran is preserved in its original form for more than 1400 years without a single change. Think a litte. How can some else could pay for the someone's sin ? is it logical? I murder or rape a person then God will pay for my sin is that you all are trying to expalin - Don't be stupid.

adilah,,before you could see and change your religions please study it first,,don't simply trust something new..to be more professional,,i would like to ask you something,,if god is powerful,why He still need to sacrify,,if god love holy bible why is it contaminated.. different in ISLAM,,God stand by Himself no need others to help,,Quran is not contaminate since the prophet Muhammad alive till now,,it just some peoples who interpret it wrong,,but all around the world the contain is still the same..

Adillah is a real person for sure and there are many more just like her. Your comment that any true Muslim must believe the Bible is interesting. The Bible clearly states that Jesus was/is God in human flesh. The Bible repeatedly teaches God Incarnate. God took human flesh. Jesus, was the eternal Son of the Eternal God. The Bible teaches that Jesus was the final revelation of God - no future prophets would have anything to add. The Bible teaches the truth of the triune God - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Not three Gods! One God - Three persons in the Godhead. The Word of God has not been changed. Translations in various languages have been made and translations reflecting the current usage of words and idioms have been made - but the original manuscripts in Hebrew and Greek have not been altered over the past 1500 years. The creator God created humans in the first place so He could enjoy a personal relationship with them - so He could enjoy fellowship with Adam and Eve. His desire for that relationship has never changed. Despite your sin and mine, the True God loves every single one on the planet. His holiness would not allow Him to overlook our sins. His love found a way for our sins to be fully forgiven. His grace sent Jesus down from Heaven (God in Human flesh) so He could die for our sins. Amazing. Praise God.

The question is asked by a Muslim above - Does it make sense that someone else should die for my sins? The concept of paying for someone else's debt is not new nor is it strange. It comes from a heart characterized by LOVE and GRACE - two words that do not seem to have much place in Islam. The Bible says: GOD IS LOVE. 1John4:16. He is also the GOD OF ALL GRACE. 1Peter 5:10. If your son whom you love incurs a debt and he is unable to pay it, is it unthinkable that you might go to the bank and pay off his debt? Did your son deserve it? No. Did you have to? No. But out of love you should tremendous grace - doing for your son what he never deserved. The only True God is a God of Love and Grace. I was the guilty, filthy sinner who sinned against God. I deserved to go to Hell for my sins. But out of love for me, He came to die on the Cross and to bear the death penalty for my sins....and by GRACE I am saved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 What a God is ours!

#AA above on December 31st said that Adillah was praying to a man on a cross. No, she never prayed to a man who is still hanging on a cross or to a Jesus who is dead. Mohammud is dead. Jesus hung on a Cross 2000 years ago. He died and was buried and the third day He was raised from the dead and He returned to Heaven. He is alive. Prophets on earth live their lives and then die and their bodies return to dust. Jesus was God in human flesh and proved He was not just another prophet.You can not go on a pilgrimage and find the dust or ashes or any remains whatever of Jesus. He is ALIVE. This is what the holy book, the Bible teaches.

God is the only creator, if God able to created Adam without medium of a father and a mother, then it is just EASY for God to create Jesus with medium a mother ONLY. But it doesn't mean that Jesus is a God or God's child. If you said so then why they don't say Adam is a God's child? Long time ago in middle east, the good people who close to God & always obey God was called as Son of God....but the people in west was translate it literately as "Son of God" as like a human born from a woman through a sex process. (learn more history please) The Christianity term was appear long time after Jesus was crucified, He himself never say that he is a christian. It was Paul who said that, and who is Paul? He doesn't even know Jesus and he never meet Jesus in his life!! You guys should learn more about the bible itself, where is the original bible? the christian threw it away and prefer to use the new edition which mostly they had changed the contents.

Jesus repeatedly claimed Himself to be God. To read more about what the Holy Bible teaches about Christ being God in human flesh read these Bible verses: Colossians 1:15; John 1:2; 1Peter 3:15; John 8:56-59; John 10:30-33; John 12:44-46; John 13:12-14; John 14:6-9; John 6:32-35; John 8:12-14; John 10:7-11; John 11:21-27; Matthew 20:25-28; Mark 9:31-32; John 3:16-18; John 6:37-40. Many of these verses are what Jesus said about himself. How can your belief system agree that Jesus was a great prophet on par with Mohammud, if you fundamentally disagree with what Jesus said about Himself? If you are taught to respect the Bible as a Holy Book of God on par with the Koran, how do you deal with who Jesus claimed himself to be? If you cannot accept Jesus' claims to be the Almighty God then shouldn't you dismiss Him completely as a blaspheming liar or a mentally ill delusional person with no credibility when it comes to the truth? How can Muslims say that Jesus was a great prophet - if what He said was blasphemy according to Islamic teachings? How can Muslims say the Bible is a Book of God, if you fundamentally disagree with the main focus of the book which is Jesus Christ? The logic is faulty.

Regarding Jesus and whether He should be worshiped or not - again look at the list of Bible verses listed above. Also Matthew 2:11,8:2, 9:18, 14:33, 28:17; Luke 24:52, John 9:38. Jesus talked about sin: Mark 7:20-23 Mary was was a virgin when Jesus was born but nothing in the Bible indicates she remained a virgin afterwards. The critical truth from the Word of God is that Jesus was born of a virgin - supernatural with no sin passed on by a natural human birth. He had no human father. But Mary and Joseph together had children after the Virgin Birth of Christ. Many believe that Solomon wrote the Song of Songs - but not all are sure of that. The important thing to know is that it is a part of the inspired canon of Scripture. The Bible teaches that humans are responsible beings with the ability to choose to accept Christ as their Saviour. A child who has not matured to the age of making an informed choice - infants, toddlers, etc. - the Good God always does the right and the fair thing. King David's child died in infancy and David knew that he would see him again in Heaven. Read: 2 Samuel 12:16-23; For personal responsibility read: Matthew 27:22; John 3:18. God loves every single person on this planet - and when Christ died on the Cross - He precious blood was shed for sinners from ever nation and from every religion. He loves all and will save all who are willing to turn to HIM. John 3:16

Several of the Muslim responses are quite interesting in regards to the Bible. I would just make a couple of comment - 1. These Muslims seem to think that the Bible has been changed or corrupted at some point so my questions would be - WHEN did that happen - before or after Mohamed lived on earth? 2. If the corruption happened BEFORE Mohamed then why did Mohamed recommend that his followers read the Injil (Bible) if had had been changed or corrupted. Therefore I would guess that a Muslim would say that it was still accurate at the time of Mohamed. that was 600 years after the death AND resurrection of Jesus. 3. However IF the Bible was corrupted AFTER Mohamed - that poses a problem for the Muslim as well. I have been to several museums (was recently at the British Museum for one) where there are manuscripts of the Bible that were in existence BEFORE 600 AD - in fact there are hundreds o f them. SO if something has been changed - instead of making all these empty claims that Christians changed the Bible - get into these ancient texts and find some scholars of Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic and SHOW us what part was changed. Muslims always want to say the Bible has been changed but when you ask them to show where in any of the PRE-Mohamed Bible texts it turns out they are just talking and really have no evidence. My Muslim friends need to step back from their emotions and traditions and take a look at true Christianity - not what they have been taught. I encounter many Muslims who have been told many things about Christianity that are just NOT true. Best wishes to Adillah - you have made a courageous decision. Unfortunately while people who convert to Islam are loudly paraded before the world as "evidence" of the wonders of Islam - we all understand that those hundreds of thousands of Muslims who have embraced Jesus but live in Muslim countries - do not have the same freedom to proclaim their faith - I wonder what that says about Islam? Christians please LOVE and pray for your Muslim friends - God loves them as well.
