Each event is within the perfect timing of the Godhead. In 1 Timothy 2, the Son has come out and gone to the cross to reveal the heart wish of God. He has given testimony to God’s desire for all men to be saved by offering Himself as a substitutionary ransom on behalf of all. He has brought honor to the Father and revealed the glory of a Pardoning God.
Ever since the fall in the Garden, God’s love was questioned. Satan initiated it and put the doubt into the heart of man. Sin blinded us and 
made us enemies of God, denying His love and seeking our own wills. But an adequate and irrefutable testimony has been given to the reality of God’s love for us. It meant a cross and shame for the Son, but He has refuted every charge against the love of God: Calvary has answered each charge, erased every doubt, and silenced every voice raised in denial.
In chapter 6, it is the Father bringing honor and glory to the Son in His own time. The wonderful truth of 1 Timothy 6:15 is that there is a day circled on God’s calendar when He is going to honor His Son. In His own time, according to His own eternal plan and purposes, God is going to reveal to the world who is the genuine King of kings and Lord of lords. The One Who witnessed a good confession before Pontius Pilate, in silent dignity enduring the boastful arrogance of that petty ruler, and Who was led to cross, will yet be vindicated.
All is in God’s own time. In its own time, Christ witnessed to the character of God, vindicating Him against all the charges of indifference and a lack of love. In His own time, the Father will honor the Son, vindicating Him before the eyes of men. Thus, each member of the Godhead is working for the honor and glory of the other.
The wondrous harmony, equality, and selflessness which exist within the Godhead are fresh cause for worship.
Consider
The wording of 1 Timothy 6:15 is difficult; but verse 13 introduces God and then makes reference to the Lord Jesus. Then God is the One Who does the “shewing” in verse 15, and verse 16 reverts back to God the Father.
