Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady became the first player in NFL history to win six Super Bowl championships. Born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California, Tom Brady was drafted by the NFL’s New England Patriots in 2000. The star quarterback has won three NFL MVP awards, four Super Bowl MVP awards, and a record six Super Bowl championships… In 2016 Brady led the Patriots to a Super Bowl LI victory over the Atlanta Falcons, and added to his collection with a historic win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII. Thank you Peter. What a timely message for all who have so long worshipped at the alter of sports, Hollywood, and so many other stages of entertainment. As a Christian, I too, need to repent of all too often getting caught up in the admiration of the celebrity. These so called “stars” are mere human; they are lost for eternity without Christ;, yet loved equally by our Lord. I pray that this virus brings with it, a spiritual awakening of the likes we have never seen in our lifetime – an awakening that comes from having taken stock of our lives and seeing the void for what it is – a void that the celebrity can not fill. Only Jesus.
